Good concept, great execution! This is a beautiful video showing off some famous London skylines and venues at sunset, using time-lapse to show the city's landmarks go from late afternoon to night. Many of these locations are along the Thames River, such as the London Eye and Tower Bridge. Use of symphonic music makes this a very dramatic and pleasing presentation...
Very interesting video, describing the history and business aspects of the London Eye. I didn't know it was originally slated to only be in operation for 5 years, which due to its success both as a tourist destination and city landmark has been extended another 20 years! Some really fantastic views from high up, reportedly able to see Windsor Castle 25 miles away - on a cloudless, smogless day I imagine ;-)
You know, I remember seeing this giant mosaic in the Tottenham Court Road tube station my few visits in London, but being caught up in the hustle and bustle of the city, I never really spent the time to fully look and explore the tile work here. This mosaic apparently covers 1000 square meters, and it really is interesting and pretty; but I'm sure very few people take the time to marvel in the surroundings in the tube station!
Check out this creepy little cafe just off Trafalgar Square in London, England. Located at the Charing Cross tube station, this is an old crypt with tombstones all over the floor here - quite an intriguing history lesson while sipping your coffee!
Near the Bank tube station in London, England is this spectacular Golden Stairway. Located in Throgmorton Restaurant, the stairwell is actually lit by golden chandeliers! It looks to be a perfect place, located between the London Stock Exchange and the Bank of England - with gold priced at nearly $900/ounce, imagine what this stairway is worth now!
